Joshua Gary, (b.1975) a native of Portland, Oregon, is a sculptor living and working in Savannah, Georgia.  Gary found his creative footing living within the artistic community of Taos County, New Mexico.  He considers this special place to be monumental to the foundation of his practice. It allowed him to apprentice with sculptors like Kathy Parks, Huberto Maestas, and Lynn Kircher.  These artists provided a space for him to grow and encouraged him to explore and refine the technical aspects of manipulating metals. He was introduced to the philosophy of listening and responding to what various materials would like to become.  His work is exhibited in various locations across the United States, including Portland, Taos, Boulder, Raleigh and Savannah.  Joshua’s work is highly regarded among collectors and critics alike for its creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail.  Much of the output projected from his rigorous studio practice consists of commissions for private collections and ongoing preparation for site-specific museum, and public art installations.
